We’ve been busy.
Over the last year, Nexgen has been used, tested, challenged and shaped by the people who know development best – the teams actually delivering affordable housing.
We’ve listened to our clients, taken on board plenty of feedback and continued building Nexgen around the real day-to-day challenges development teams face.
The result is Nexgen v1.0.0 – our biggest platform update yet.
And while the version number may sound technical, what really matters is what it means for our clients: less admin, more flexibility, clearer information and a platform that works much more closely around the way your organisation operates.
Make Nexgen work your way
One thing we’ve learned very quickly is that no two development teams work in exactly the same way.
And they shouldn’t have to.
With v1.0.0, organisations can now tailor even more of Nexgen around their own processes – from project journeys and tasks to forms, letters, property templates and trackers.
You can create your own organisation-wide templates, adapt them where needed and keep your teams working within a clear and consistent framework.
So rather than changing your processes to fit the software, Nexgen can increasingly fit around you.
Better information, without the chasing
Development teams deal with a lot of information.
Project updates. Cashflows. Approvals. Risks. Properties. Reports. Finance data. Spreadsheets. And usually quite a few emails asking where something is.
We want Nexgen to make that easier.
Our latest improvements to reporting, integrations, exports and data connectivity help bring more of that information together, reducing duplication and making it easier for Development, Finance and senior teams to understand what is happening across the programme.
A clearer view of the money
Financial oversight remains a big part of Nexgen.
v1.0.0 includes further improvements to cashflow, financial reporting and project information, helping teams see both individual project performance and the wider programme picture.
The aim is simple: make it easier to see where you are, what has changed and what is coming next.
Property information that’s easier to manage
We’ve also made some significant improvements to property and unit management.
Teams can manage larger amounts of property data more easily, organise information more clearly and get to the details they need without battling through endless spreadsheets.
It’s quicker, cleaner and designed for the realities of managing complex development programmes.
Lots of smaller improvements too
Not every improvement needs a big headline.
We’ve made enhancements across forms, letters, risk management, dashboards, workflows, notifications, reporting and document management.
Some are major new features. Others are small changes that simply make Nexgen nicer and easier to use every day.
And many of them started with a client saying:
“Wouldn’t it be useful if Nexgen could…?”
That is exactly how we want the platform to develop.
Built with our clients, not just for them
This is probably the part we’re most pleased about.
Nexgen is continuing to grow because our clients are actively helping shape it.
They use the platform in the real world, tell us what works, tell us what could work better and give us ideas we can turn into improvements for everyone.
That relationship is incredibly important to us.
We’re a relatively small team, which means we can listen, move quickly and stay close to the people using Nexgen every day.
And if you’re new to Nexgen?
v1.0.0 is also a good snapshot of just how far the platform has come.
Nexgen now brings together project management, financial monitoring, cashflow, governance, approvals, property information, reporting and integrations within one platform designed specifically for affordable housing development.
And we’re not finished.
What’s next?
v1.0.0 also introduces formal platform versioning and in-platform release notes.
That means our clients will have a much clearer view of what’s new, what we’ve improved and what continues to change as Nexgen develops.
There are already more improvements on the way.
Some will come from our own roadmap.
Plenty more will come from conversations with our clients.
And that’s exactly how we think it should be.
Nexgen is built for development teams – and increasingly, built with them too.
